The History of In This Issue Comics

In This Issue began as a dream, not a dream to be the best comic shop in the Quad Cities, but a dream to be the next comic book podcast. That podcast, hosted by Justin Fah and his friend Brad, ran until 2016.

When presented with the opportunity to dream a different dream and open a comic shop in Bettendorf, IA, Justin Fah leaned into the name of his old Podcast and opened In This Issue Comics with his family in 2016. The early days of the shop were slow and steady as Justin worked to set In This Issue Comics apart from the number of competing shops in the Quad Cities Area.

With a focus on customer care and a welcoming environment, the shop added some of the best comic book fans in the area to its list of loyal patrons. In addition to comic books, the shop carries toys and hosts a weekly game night for customers to use the store to enjoy their favorite games. The toy catalog has expanded over the years from premier action figures like Hot Toys to more budget friendly offerings like Hasbro’s Marvel Legends and Transformer figures.

In 2022, In This Issue Comics moved from a leased retail space to their own building at 2801 State Street Bettendorf, IA 52722. The new location has grown over the years as Justin and his team continue to try new things, learn new things, but always remember to care for the customer as we all enjoy our comic, the greatest story telling format there is!
